This is an original recipe by Susan V from fatfreevegan.com. It's so easy to make and incredibly yummy! You can buy Vital Wheat Gluten at most grocery stores (look for Bob's Red Mill). I did not have nutritional yeast so I omitted this ingredient with no lack of taste. These were quot;grilledquot; on a griddle and it worked out great. My meat eater hubby loved it as did the kids. Check out http://everydaydish.tv/cookingshow_video.html for a video on how to make this. (it's under Susan's Ribz).
Fruitcake is great, but often in smaller portions. These individual loaves have a soft, spiced crumb and lots of candied fruit. They make the perfect size for gifting.
The deep flavors of molasses, pumpkin and spices make these wholesome cookies delicious without the addition of butter--and they lend themselves beautifully to the inclusion of whole-wheat flour. Click here to visit the new home of KitchenDaily!
These ribs are unique because of the spicy rub and the combination of sweet brown sugar and spicy jalapeno peppers in the sauce. I always make them for my husband's birthday. —Shirley Manthey, Omaha, Nebraska
